This is the first book entirely dedicated to PAP, covering its history, definition, and classification based on pathogenesis, and providing an overview of current diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. For the sake of conciseness, PAP in children a highly multifaceted topic is presented in a non-exhaustive manner; it is hoped that this aspect will be further expanded in future editions. In addition, a chapter is devoted to the patients' perspective. Due to the rarity of this disease and the limited availability of resources, individuals, affected by PAP often have insufficient visibility and limited political representation compared to those with other lung diseases. This volume aims to give voice to their experiences and highlight their unmet needs. It is hoped that readers will find in these pages valuable information to refine their knowledge and improve the clinical management of PAP. Ultimately, the shared aspiration is to maintain awareness of this often-neglected disease, with the goal of improving the journey of patients and caregivers
